Billing information is required for all credit card payments to be processed. Please read below for common questions:

Why have I been charged when I haven't yet received anything?
Your credit card will be charged at the time the order is placed. Shipped orders typically arrive within 5-7 business days from the time they are placed.

How come there is a $1.00 charge from Costco Business Printing on my credit card?
This is a pending charge used to validate the credit card. The pending charge will expire and will not appear as a transaction on the credit card statement.

Who can I contact about charges on my card?
Contact member support.

Sales Tax Exemptions for Online Orders

Warehouse Pick-Up Orders

Payment for orders picked up at a Costco Warehouse is collected at the time of pick-up. If your order qualifies for tax exemption, ask the cashier for a sales tax exemption claim form.

Mail Back Orders doesn't offer sales tax exemption at the time of sale. For resale, requires the appropriate resale certificate from the state where shipment was delivered. For exempt organizations, such as schools and nonprofit organizations, most states require that purchases be made with a credit card in that name of the tax-exempt business or agency. Payment with personal funds to be reimbursed by the organization may nullify an exemption.

Our ability to provide you a refund of the tax you paid on your purchase will be based on the ship-to state's resale/tax exemption laws. If your purchase doesn't meet that state's guidelines, Costco won't be able to refund the tax.

Our Tax Department will process your exemption after you've placed your order and submitted the following documentation:

  • A copy of your resale/tax exempt documentation.
  • A copy of the shipping confirmation email from your purchase or printed receipt from your online "Order Status" page.
  • A sales tax exemption claim form. Download the PDF form or copy and paste the following URL into the address bar of your web browser:
  • The completed and signed sales tax exemption claim form MUST be included with your request. The Tax Department will respond to your exemption request with either a sales tax refund or an explanation why a refund was denied.
